about Magnuson Community Center:

Formerly known as Building 47 or the "recreation building," Magnuson Community Center has a gymnasium and an auditorium. Activities and events include family movies, sports (badminton, basketball, fencing, flag football, soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee), arts and crafts, music classes, nature classes, home school enrichment programs, day camps, indoor playpark, and language classes.

The Brig (originally a military jail) is also used for classes and events.

The center is located in Magnuson Park.

getting there:

From I-5: Take the NE 65th Street exit (#171) and head east about four miles on 65th. Turn left at the "T" intersection at Sand Point Way. Turn right at 7400 Sand Point Way and enter the main entrance to Magnuson Park. Go stright ahead two blocks, following the "clown" signs. Turn left toward the modern gray building, which is the center. To get to the Brig, stay on 74th after you enter the park, and look for the building on your left. It is near the Amphitheatre. Public Transportation: Metro bus routes 74 and 75 serve the Magnuson Park along Sand Point Way NE.
