about Mamma Mia!:

The storyline running through Mamma Mia!, as every critic has noted, is simply a serviceable vehicle to give the cast plenty of excuses to burst into tunes by ABBA - some songs instantly recognizable, some obscure. It's not always a successful conceit, but when it works - notably in a scene between the three older "girlfriends" channeling Chiquitita - it's fABBA-ulous.

Note that there are some sexual references - this is, after all, the story of a woman who gave birth out of wedlock, and a daughter trying to determine which of three possible fathers should walk her down the aisle on her wedding day - that you may also find inappropriate for your younger children.

tips:

Winter Garden is one of the larger Broadway theatres, and all seats, even expensive ones, are not equal. Try to avoid sitting on the far left or far right of the mezzanine.
