A short hike from the parking lot (about 3/4 of a mile) through bamboo and rain forest terminates at a breath-taking spot - the 150 foot Manoa Falls. Unfortunately, swimming is dangerous and forbidden, and the water is not potable, so be sure to bring a good supply along.

Slather on the bug repellant before you go.
getting there:
Take McCully Street out of Waikiki toward the mountains. Turn right onto Kapiolani Blvd, then left onto University and drive through the University of Hawaii campus. Turn right onto Manoa Road, which dead ends at the trail head.
