Marin Day Schools is one of the biggest child care centers and preschools in the area, with 14 locations divided among San Francisco, Marin County, and Redwood City. Most campuses serve children 12 weeks through 5 years (some only take children ages 2-to-5).

Each campus has rooms that are clean, bright, cheerful, and filled with children's art, writing, and math and science projects. The school follows a structured curriculum that emphasizes language development, science and nature study, music, drama, reading readiness, and free play, among other things.

The school is open five days a week, twelve months a year, and children may attend on a two-, three-, or five-day a week schedule. One significant drawback is that it can be hard to get into, particularly the ones downtown. The organization has contracts with local businesses that give employees and their children first dibs on the available spaces.
