The main draw at this small museum on the UNLV campus is the reptile display. The LIVE reptile display, featuring lizards, snakes (many poisonous and indigenous to Vegas and the desert), and turtles. If you time your visit just right, you might even be lucky enough to see feeding time...
Kids also enjoy the Archaeology Dig in the museum's lobby, which gives young visitors the chance to dig for buried stones, mock arrowheads, and other artifacts.
The exhibit hall also features a 2,500 square foot temporary exhibit area which hosts international, national and regional exhibitions.
Outdoors, visitors find the 1.5-acre Xeriscape Garden, featuringdrought-tolerant plants introduced from Australia, South America, Mexico, and the Mediterranean., as well as plants from the four desert regions of North America. The garden also the Klinkhammer Bird Viewing Ramada.
