about Market Square:

Market Square is the heart and soul of San Antonio, located between Dolorosa, Santa Rosa, and Commerce Streets with IH-35 serving as its western boundary. Pedestrian plazas are lined with shops and restaurants, and a large indoor area with 32 shops, called El Mercado, hearkens back to the olden days, when everyone met "at the market."
