Math Monkey is the winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best tutoring for big kids in Las Vegas!

Calling itself "a knowledge center," Math Monkey teaches Vedic math - Indian math principles that allow users to perform calculations mentally - through a game-based learning program. Warm-up exercises that get the kids excited about numbers are followed by a game that builds on what was learned the week before.

Students are placed in groups for different academic abilities and work their way through five levels that sport names of primate species like lemurs, gorillas, and orangutans. A complete session lasts 12 weeks, but students can sign up at any time during a session.
