Matty Cakes is a neighborhood bakery and coffee shop where everything is made from scratch, and the cakes are to die for. Call in your order for sandwiches, or pick up pastries, cookies, or cake slices to-go - there is no seating here. (Cookies are $1 with a sandwich purchase, and they are as big as a dessert plate - plenty to share.)
Sandwich choices include standards like turkey clubs and chicken salad, but also sophisticated sammies like turkey, cranberry & brie, and green tomato goat cheese pimento.
Over-the-top birthday cake choices include the richest red velvet, caramel banana, and a devil's fudge cake that's the stuff of chocoholic dreams. Check the website for some gorgeous kids cakes ideas. Owner Matt Lewis will do custom cakes with enough lead time, so call or stop by to discuss flavors, themes, and pricing. Cakes are available in quarter-sheet and half-sheet size, in addition to smaller 7 or 9 inch versions.
