Albuquerque's first public museum, the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, is one of the nation's finest collections documenting the cultural heritage of the Southwest through two permanent exhibits - Peoples of the Southwest and Ancestors.
Contemporary Southwest exhibits as well as exhibits from around the world are displayed in the two other galleries.

The Museum Store carries anthropology books, jewelry, crafts, pottery, baskets, and textiles.
