about Maxwell Museum of Anthropology:

Albuquerque's first public museum, the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, is one of the nation's finest collections documenting the cultural heritage of the Southwest through two permanent exhibits - Peoples of the Southwest and Ancestors.

Contemporary Southwest exhibits as well as exhibits from around the world are displayed in the two other galleries.

Membership: A $35 family membership includes The Maxwell newsletter, a 15% discount at the Museum Store (except books), and reduced fees and special invitations for lectures and other events.

The Museum Store carries anthropology books, jewelry, crafts, pottery, baskets, and textiles.

Located east of University Boulevard, between Las Lomas and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
