McFetridge Sports Center, located in California Park, boasts the only year-round indoor ice rink in the Chicago Park District. It offers a unique sports experience for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Full of activity 18 hours a day, seven days a week, McFetridge welcomes more than 2,000 patrons each week for its year-round competitive and recreational ice skating, hockey and tennis programs, as well as special events.

McFetridge also includes an NHL-sized ice arena with seating for 1,200 spectators, a fitness center overlooking the ice rink, the state's first wheelchair baseball field, six tournament-quality indoor tennis courts, a 50-yard outdoor pool, four outdoor tennis courts, and four outdoor basketball standards.

A fee is required for tennis court use. Tennis Membership Cards may be purchased at the Business Office.

Other indoor amenities include a snack shop, a skate rental shop, locker rooms, and showers. The sports center is fully accessible to people of all physical abilities, and the adjacent parking lot affords ample parking.

The rink is huge and can be very crowded on weekends, but take advantage of the inexpensive skating lessons. (Skate rental is $3 except at noon skate sessions.)

Swimming (summer) and tennis lessons are also offered at the complex.
