about Memorial Library of Radnor Township:

The Memorial Library of Radnor Township, a member of the Delaware County Library System, offers a wide range of services and a varied selection of material.

The Children's Department at the library provides materials in various formats including books, CDs, and audio and video cassette tapes. Visitors to the colorful children's area are greeted by cozy sofas, computers with software for both preschoolers and school age children, and a handful of toys. Weekly story times for various preschool age groups are offered and special programs for kids - including magic shows, puppet shows, and presentations from local venues such as the Winterthur Museum - are scheduled frequently. The library also hosts events for teens, including Friday Night Chess Club for Young Adults for kids in sixth grade and up.

Each summer, children in preschool through middle school can participate in the Summer Reading Club that offers posters, stickers, and other special reading incentives. Weekly groups provide book and craft activities for children in Kindergarten through second grades, and book discussions for students in third through fifth grades. Science in the Summer, sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline, bring hands-on science activities to students entering second through sixth grades.

getting there:

Take Lancaster Avenue (Route 30) west to North Wayne Avenue (in the center of Wayne). Left on North Wayne Avenue for half a block, then right on West Wayne Avenue. The Library and a municipal parking lot are on the left, just past the post office.
