Sitting on a mile stretch of Lake St. Clair, Metro Beach is hugely popular with watercrafters. In fact, there aren't many better places in metro Detroit to kick back and watch the boats go by - and the northeast side of the park, right where the channel opens up to the big water, is the best spot.
Bikers and bladers like the two-mile paved trail that links up to the Metro Parkway trail, and there's a large outdoor pool with slide in addition to the beach.
There's an 18-hole golf course plus an adventure golf course for the kids, a large playscape area, beach volleyball, basketball courts, and picnic areas galore.
In the wintertime, ice skating, ice hockey, and more than two miles of cross-country ski trails will cure your cabin fever.
