The
MGM Grand Hotel, a motion-picture-themed hotel, is, indeed,
Grand - as in "vast in its offerings" - in so many ways. The site houses 5,044 guest rooms, including 751 suites. Book one of the Bungalow Suites, which offers extended living space for roly-poly youngsters. The MGM was a AAA Four Diamond Award-winner in 2007. The
.6-acre Grand Pool Complex brings together five swimming pools, three whirlpools, and - the Vegas resort standby - a lazy river for inner-tubing. The
Lion Habitat is also a kid favorite. The
CBS Television City Research Center booth is located by the hotel pool. Interested kids (and accompanying adults) can pick up free tickets to screenings at the entrance to the hotel parking lot, and then serve as guinea pigs for network execs testing new shows. Audience members use touch-screen computers to record their responses, and some participants are occasionally selected for longer focus group discussions. It is open daily 10am-10pm. Nearly
twenty restaurants are also on the premises; the
Rainforest Café or the
MGM Grand Buffet are good bets for little ones.
