about MGM Grand Hotel Lion Habitat:

These big cats might chase a ball, bat playfully at their trainers, stare spectators in the eye - or snooze soundly through one's visit. They are viewed from a glass walkway tunnel that runs through the habitat - located within the MGM Grand Hotel - allowing lions to prowl above and below visitors. Waterfalls, ponds, and acacia trees give the attraction a natural feel.

Parents tell us the best time to visit is opening time -the lions are more likely to be awake and inquisitive. Lions spend only a few hours here each week; when not on duty, they live in a spacious ranch owned by their caretaker, noted feline expert Keith Evans.

tips:

Remember that familiar "roar" before the start of MGM motion pictures? That was Leo, and many of the lions in this exhibit are his direct descendents.

getting there:

From I-15 north, take the Charleston Boulevard exit and go east. Turn left at Las Vegas Boulevard South. The MGM Hotel is at the intersection of Gass Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South.
