The Miami Children's Museum features hundreds of interactive exhibits, educational programs and classes, as well as a wealth of learning materials appropriate for children of all ages. The 56,500-square-foot, hands-on facility features 12 galleries, a 200-seat auditorium, classrooms, a gift shop and a parent/teacher resource center.
Permanent exhibits include the Castle of Dreams, a two-story sandcastle kids can explore; the Health & Wellness Center, where families can learn the benefits of good nutrition and exercise; Pet Central, an exhibit that teaches kids how to properly care for pets; the Safety Zone, which allows kids to cruise on a police motorcycle or steer a fire truck; an All About Art display that encourage art, and a pretend supermarket, television studio, bank, cruise ship, music studio, and more.
There are several nature-themed exhibits, including Everglades Park, which familiarizes kids with the everglades ecosystem and its inhabitants; Ocean Odyssey, where kids can see the creatures that inhabit the museum's 900-gallon marine tank; and The Sea and Me, a special water-themed gallery designed specifically for kids under the age of five.
The museum also features Mt. Michimu, a rock-climbing exhibit that allows kids to climb indoors. Visitors can purchase a one-climb or all-day pass to climb.
Hungry museum-goers can grab a bite at the Subway restaurant within the museum.
City of Miami residents receive a 50% admission discount; parking is $1/hour.
