Cruise down the aisles at Michaels Arts & Crafts Store and you can't help but be inspired by some of the projects that you can do at home with the kids. Sometimes it's a real lifesaver to stock up ahead of time on project materials for those long rainy afternoons.

Many locations host classes and demos including Kids Club Imagination Saturday. These 30-minute craft activities for ages five to 12 are supervised from 10am-12n on Saturdays only. Crafts are seasonally appropriate and usually appeal to both boys and girls.

Michaels has also introduced a kids' program, The Knack, which gives participants access to exclusive online projects, special promotions, offers, and sweepstakes.

Party packages include one of 11 pre-selected projects, or you can "create your own package" with Michaels' party planners. You supply the cake and decorations; Michaels supplies the craft supplies and supervised instruction. The party fee is $25 for room reservation, plus $6-$10 per child, depending on project selected.

Summer Camps: Kids' Summer Craft Camps for children five to 12 years old take place in July and August. Camps cost $8 per two hour session and kids will create crafts like princess hats, pirate swords, and more. Contact your local store for exact dates and to register.
