If any restaurant exterior ever resembled a building straight from a fairy tale,
Mimi's Cafe would be the one. With its
thatched roof and bright, bistro-style interior décor, the restaurant could be home to Sleeping Beauty - if she lived in New Orleans, that is!
Since 1978,
Mimi's Cafe has served breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere with a
colorful touch of the French Quarter in all of the decorations.
The menu is extensive, offering imaginative
omelet creations, salads, pasta, burgers, fish, and steak. The
Espresso Bar offers a number of coffee drinks made with fresh beans ground to order. And
luscious desserts include Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie,
Mimi's Bread Pudding, and Bananas Foster Mud Pie.
Mimi's certainly has a way with the kids. Servers deliver a plate filled with
orange slices, Cheerios, and a bib for toddlers, and the
Travel Times menu is an activity sheet that comes wrapped around crayons. The menu offers kids ages 12 and under their choice of "Mimi Mouse" pancakes, macaroni and cheese, burgers, chicken fingers, and more. The Gobble, Gobble turkey platter comes with all the fixin's and is a generous dinner for little ones. All kids' meals are served with fries, fresh fruit, or smashed potatoes; milk, juice, or soda; and a special Oreo cookie crumbs dessert for around $4.
Booster seats and
high chairs are available;
diaper-changing stations are located in men's and women's restrooms.
Mimi's also offers a student recognition program that recognizes students in grades K through 6 who display scholastic achievement. For more details on the program, see the
restaurant website.
