It celebrates the beauty of everyday objects around us. Changing exhibitions focus on historical and contemporary folk art, craft and design.
Mingei Museum has two locations: a primary one located in Balboa Park and a satellite in Escondido.

getting there:
From the North: take I-5 to Sassafras Street, turn left onto Laurel, take Laurel into Balboa Park. From the South: take I-5 to Sixth Avenue exit, turn right onto Sixth Avenue, turn right onto Laurel, take Laurel into Balboa Park. From the East: take I-8 to 163 south. Take the University exit from 163 south; it becomes Sixth Avenue. Turn left on Laurel. Cross the bridge - you will be in Balboa Park.
