About Minnesota Center for Book Arts
Housed in the lovely Open Book center (along with The Loft Literary Center), the Minnesota Center for Book Arts hosts exhibits and offers interdisciplinary instruction in an art form that is vibrant, visual, and literary.
Classes for adults, families, and children - at all levels of experience - are offered in papermaking, printing, bookmaking, and more. Themed summer camps for ages 2 and up ($12-$275) are offered when school is out.
MCBA's yearlong By Design program supports emerging teen artists (ages 15 to 18) of all cultural and economic backgrounds with mentorships, studio space, and exhibition opportunities. The program offers teens a chance to explore drawing, writing, printing, comics, zines, and papermaking. Also part of the program are Summer Art Intensives which help teens build an exceptional portfolio and learn college-level artmaking techniques. Each one-week intensive ($480) explores a different area, with instruction from 9am-2pm, followed by two-hours of open studio time.
Household memberships cost $60 and include a 10% discount on classes, camps, and store merchandise.

Getting There
On Washington Avenue, along the river at the edge of downtown Minneapolis. Park in the small lot beside the building, or in nearby ramps. Metered on-street parking is also an option, but can be hard to find.
