Mission Bay Park Playground455

This playground is the biggest one on Mission Bay Dr. It has a big green dinosaur slide and is the last playground on the right before you hit tecolote/sea world dr. right next to fiesta island. We really like this park.

This is one of the best parks in San Diego. I think it's funny that one of the reviewers complained about the sand, um this is San Diego and it is Mission BAY :) The sand is nice and clean and most kids take their shoes off if it's warm enough out. They have lots of options for playing for different ages. And there's nice walking areas and sidewalks for riding bikes.

This playground seems a little outdated. Some of the equipment was broken or not working properly. The playground is covered in sand which gets into my 4 year old daughter's shoes (and that really bothered her.) Also, the area smelled really bad from the water for some reason.

Lots of slides, swings, bridges, tunnels

There are 3 areas, one nearest the information center is small, but good. The best is nearest to Tecolote Drive. Very large and impressive, with lots of sand, 3 swing 'areas:' 4 & 4 (toddlers), 4, and one that only has 2 for toddlers. There are several play structures. Some hit the 8-10 age really well with wonderful obstacle portions. There is a cool structure with tubes that you pour sand in, and it goes elsewhere. I saw 6 boys with buckets playing on this. Bring your shovels and buckets for the 6-8 Y/O crowd. There's a big pirate ship for playing on, too! Restroom there, and enough shade and shade shelters. Cool winds make it a nice place on hot weekends. Mom can walk on sidewalk-style path for a long way if she's looking for a workout before letting the kids scamper.
