Contemporary Art is well established in Cleveland, thanks to the Museum of Contemporary Art, commonly known as MOCA.
We like MOCA because MOCA likes kids. Children under 12 are always admitted free, and MOCA says it's OK for art to be "cool" - no studious looks required.
In keeping with its appreciation of all types (and techniques) of art, MOCA holds several hands-on workshops for kids and families each year. MOCA also participates in the annual Circle Sampler summer camp program, so children entering first through sixth grades can spend a week at the museum, in addition to stints at other institutions.
School group tours are popular and last about 45 minutes. Call 216.831.3233 to arrange.
