about Monroe Elementary School:

Monroe Elementary School is located in the heart of the Excelsior District near the southern border of San Francisco. The school serves about 475 students, many of whom live in the area and some who travel across town to get there. Monroe has recently flourished with the help of special grants, talented teachers, energized parent groups, a school beautification project, and the birth of its newly aligned language programs. Most of the school's students come from Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese), and English speaking households.

Muni: The 43 O'Shannessey bus. The school is about three blocks away from the Silver/ Mission stop.
