about Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens:

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens houses two museum buildings with important Japanese historical collections. The Gardens boast a tropical bonsai collection, small lakes teeming with koi, nature trails, and picnic areas.

The principal museum building, inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, contains exhibition galleries, a theater, an authentic tea house, and a museum store. The exhibition collections include Japanese art objects and artifacts, tea ceremony items, and textile pieces. The Yamato-kan, the first museum building built in the gardens, is a replica of a Japanese villa, and gives a peek into the history of pioneering families who settled in Palm Beach County.

Though all children will enjoy some aspects of this experience, older children will appreciate the beauty and history more.

Several traditional Japanese festivals and craft programs for kids take place throughout the year.

    tips:

The Morikami offers self-guided garden audio tours in English and Spanish. Families with young children should request the family fun track, which is especially designed for children.
