Mrs. Maddox Cake Shop is often described as one of the best cake shops in metro Detroit. The bakers can personalize your cake with hand-picked colors, a photo, drawing, or copy of an invitation in just about any shape you can imagine.

The shop also makes tea sandwiches, miniature pastries, quiches, and petit fours.

Went in for a price quote for a wedding cake. When we went to make a deposit after picking up a sample of our design they refused to give a written quote and later changed the price. We had to call them to finally get the quote and the owner insisted that we had indeed been given the quote a week earlier. I have never been called a liar by a business owner before. When on the phone with the owner I decided there was no way I was going to trust these people with the such an important day.

I bought a cake for my son's first birthday party from Mrs. Maddox's. I gave them a paper plate that I was using for the Elmo drawing on the cake. Thrilled to say that the cake was a super hit. Everyone loved the yummy cake and the drawing was true to the original. I am definitely going back to them for my next cake.

We've been purchasing cakes from Mrs. Maddox since my daughter's first communion in 1993, and we've never been disappointed. We've ordered numerous birthday cakes, communion cakes and graduation cakes, and have been very happy with all. I was especially pleased with my daughter's graduation cake (both delicious and great looking!) and will have Mrs. Maddox on my list of places to contact when my son graduates this June.

The $19.00 bithday cake we purchased was dry! I think at that price for a regular 2 layer cake, it should have good quality and taste. We will NEVER buy a Mrs. Maddox cake again, and neither will our family & friends!

The cakes are so moist and delicious. We buy all of our special occasion cakes there - from Wedding Cakes, birthday cakes, baby & wedding shower cakes. The best decorating ever -- AND we travel from the East Side of Detroit to pick them up!

...Maddox's cakes since 1965 when I ordered my Wedding Cake. My children all had Birthday cakes from here too. The cake is moist and the white frosting with the chocolate fudge poured over the top, is the best. The cakes are really decorated beautifully. You will receive many compliments when you serve one of Mrs. Maddox's Cakes.
