Mrs. Nelson's Book & Toy Shop features over 25,000 book titles and a wide selection of playthings including soft toys for infants, Thomas the Tank Engine, Kathe Kruse, Haba, building sets, craft sets, and an extensive selection of book-related toys. The shop's science area has loads of hands-on activities as well as books.
Art workshops and storytimes are offered on a regular basis. Weekly storytimes including a craft activity are on Tuesdays 10am (preschoolers), Fridays 6pm (Pajama Story Time), and Saturdays 11am.
Mrs Nelson's is also the primary local competition for Scholastic Books, organizing terrific book fairs for schools throughout SoCal.
