about Mt. Pleasant Branch Library:
Note: The branch is closed for renovation and expansion until the fall of 2011. An interim library is available until then at 3162 Mount Pleasant Street, NW.
The Mt. Pleasant Branch circulates approximately 50,000 books annually, and offers public services that include a children's story hour and access to a public meeting room.
A child may get a library card when he or she is able to write his or her name on the library card application. Parents may check children's books out on their own cards. Books may be borrowed for up to 21 days. Children are not charged for books brought back late.

By Bus: Take the S2, S4, S5 along 16th Street, NW to Lamont Street, NW. The H4 and 42 both stop at the corner of Lamont and Mt. Pleasant Streets, NW. From here walk one block east to 16th Street, NW. Nearest Metro Station: Take the Green line to the Columbia Heights. Take Irving Street west one block to 16th Street. Turn right onto 16th Street and walk two blocks to Lamont Street. Library lies behind the small park at the southwest corner of Lamont and 16th Street.
