This favorite Southeast park is heavily wooded with old-growth evergreen trees. Bark paths provide an excellent low- impact surface to stroll, jog, or bike on and are well-lit with charming old-world streetlamps.
Picnicking is perfect too, with plenty of open spaces to throw a Frisbee. The playground is arguably one of the best in the city.
Two play structures are designed to keep tots and older kids swinging, climbing, and sliding separately at their own pace. The traditional merry-go-round and teeter-totters and an artful balance beam complete a well-rounded playtime.
Disabled kids of all ages will enjoy the play area with accessible swings, stools, and strength tests. Don't forget your
sports equipment - softball fields, horseshoe pits, and tennis courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Other attractions in the park include a
community center,
aquatic center, and
roller rink.
