about Mt. Scott Park:

This favorite Southeast park is heavily wooded with old-growth evergreen trees. Bark paths provide an excellent low- impact surface to stroll, jog, or bike on and are well-lit with charming old-world streetlamps. Picnicking is perfect too, with plenty of open spaces to throw a Frisbee. The playground is arguably one of the best in the city. Two play structures are designed to keep tots and older kids swinging, climbing, and sliding separately at their own pace. The traditional merry-go-round and teeter-totters and an artful balance beam complete a well-rounded playtime. Disabled kids of all ages will enjoy the play area with accessible swings, stools, and strength tests. Don't forget your sports equipment - softball fields, horseshoe pits, and tennis courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Other attractions in the park include a community center, aquatic center, and roller rink.

getting there:

From I-205, exit SE Foster Road and head west. Veer left on SE Harold Street and the community center will be on your left. Free parking is available in the lot off Southeast Harold Street at the north end of the park, designated areas on the streets that line the park and at the Mt. Scott Presbyterian Church (unless noted otherwise). Public Transportation: Served by Tri-Met routes #10 and #19.
