Located in the heart of Denver's Santa Fe Art District, the Museo de las Américas was founded in 1991 as a nonprofit museum committed to preserving, presenting, and promoting the art and culture of the Latino people through exhibitions and collections, bilingual programs, educational activities, and special events.
The museum offers CultureLAB: 2009 Summer Art Camp, designed for kids in kindergarten through 12th grade who are interested in investigating the arts and diverse cultures of the Americas. The museum's Culture Laboratory lets campers expand their knowledge and speak a little espanol at the same time.
Younger campers can learn more about Latin American history and traditions while taking part in activities that are creative and educational. Older students are given more in-depth and challenging projects that blend historical and contemporary ideas. Half-day and full-day options are available. Visit the website for more information and to register.
