The Museum of Making Music showcases the impact music has had on our culture, and allows kids to explore music in an interactive environment.
The museum's exhibits cover 100 years of music in America, from the Golden Age of Ragtime and Jazz to Elvis and MTV, presented in historical context. Interactive listening stations throughout let children tune into some of our culture's more influential music.
Even better are the hands-on instruments, including electronic drums and hand percussion, electric guitars, and a digital keyboard, that parents and kids can play together.
The museum also houses a store that sells musically-themed gifts perfect for enthusiasts back home.
During the summer, the museum hosts a three-day World Music Summer Camp. Students learn drums styles from around the world, experiment on drum sets, hand drums, and hand percussion, and perform for families and friends.
