A well-regarded hands-on music program for little kids (ages 18 months - 5 years old) that has been around for almost two decades here and in the East Bay. Children are introduced to instruments and get to play in their own orchestra. They learn music theory, rhythm, and meet the music family -- percussion, wind, and string instruments, and so on.
Both teachers specialize in early childhood music education and sing, play piano, and strum the guitar in classes, which run once a week for 45 minutes. Children, who must be accompanied by an adult, are organized by age into Level 1 (1-to-2 year olds); Level 2 (2-to-3 year olds); or Level 3 (3-to-5 year olds).
This is not an afterschool activity, alas, unless your school day ends at noon. The latest class you can sign up for is held at 1:30pm.
Classes have typically run 10 weeks long, but the school is experimenting with switching to longer five-month sessions.
