Music Together Alexandria offers group music classes for children from birth through age five. The program builds on children's natural enthusiasm for music and movement, teaching them the basic musical skills needed to enjoy school and social musical activities, and to study an instrument should they choose to do so. Ten weekly, 45-minute classes include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences - developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers - regardless of their own musical ability. Two CDs and a Songbook are included.
