The Mustill Store and House are the showcase pieces of Cascade Locks Park. Located in their original site at Lock 15, the canal-era buildings are believed to be built in the 1850s, although the exact date is not known. Three generations of Mustills serviced canal users until the late 1880s. The Mustill family operated a thriving grocery and meat market at Lock 15 in Akron's Cascade Locks area until 1888.
Exhibits in the existing store tell the story of the Mustills, their store, life along the Ohio & Erie Canal, and the canal's role in Akron. The Mustill Complex is a good resting point and educational attraction for those taking advantage of the National Heritage Corridor and Scenic Byway.
