- I have been to many of the Mystery cafe shows. Some are pretty squeaky clean. Depending on the show there can be some innuendos and 'adult themes' but nothing worse than basic cable. Or the nightly news half the time for that matter. Monica Lewinsky ring any bells? There's no outright obscenities... and if the kids get the jokes then they already know more than the jokes will inform them of, y'know?

[Submitted by Cognizent 5/17/08 at 12:00 AM] - in Boston's North End was a great show for my whole family including my 8 year old son. The piano player was great, the actors and food, perfect. I would go again.

[Submitted by BostonRox 4/21/08 at 12:00 AM] - I found the Mystery Cafe on this site and decided to take my youth group from my church to a show. I called and told the person I spoke to that I would be bringing 8 13 year olds and made sure that the show was appropriate for the age. He assured me that it was. As soon as we got there and we saw an actress with a barely there nurse's uniform on, I knew that I was misinformed, but decided to stay and see how it went. In the opening of the show, every other remark was a sexual remark. I was appalled! Needless to say, we left as fast as we could! Do not bring your children here!!!!
