about Nashville Zoo:

The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks Award for best day camp in Nashville, the Nashville Zoo is home to many animal species, including cheetah, monkeys, zebra, ostrich, gibbons, hyacinth macaw, reptiles, elephants, giraffes, and more.

Special features at this particular zoo include Grassmere Farm, where you can meet Percheron Draft horses, sheep, chickens, and cattle.

In addition, the zoo houses the Jungle Gym, the country's largest community-built playground, the beautiful Unseen New World exhibit (where reptiles reign), Alligator Cove, exciting animal shows, and terrific educational programs.

Keeper talks are offered Tue-Fri at 11am on the Amphitheater stage in season. Animal shows are held on the weekends; check the schedule when you arrive.

Birthday parties may be held at the zoo on specified days, with a minimum of ten, maximum of 20, guests. The package includes two hours in the party room, party host, cake, punch, goodie bag, animal presentation, park admission, one complimentary adult per guest, birthday parents, and clean-up.

Summer camp at the zoo is offered for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. Register in advance.

Family membership options begin at $95/year.
