The National Aviary, America's only independent, indoor, nonprofit zoo dedicated exclusively to birds, is home to more than 600 birds of over 200 species.
The National Aviary features large, walk-through exhibits that offer visitors the chance to experience intimate, up-close interaction with free-flying birds, with opportunities to hand-feed and to meet many species rarely found anywhere else in the world.
The aviary offers free admission every day to guests who present valid military ID. Kids ages six to 14 can take part in weeklong sessions of the Flight Camp, a summer program that explores the mysteries of natural and artificial flight. Feathers and Fun Summer Camp is available for preschoolers ages four and five.
The aviary is also offers Bird-Day Parties for up to 20 guests.
