The distinctive white, blue, and yellow National Balloon Museum - located in Indianola due to its prime flying conditions - provides an overview of more than 200 years of ballooning history.
The museum features a Children's Learning Center, library, theater room, gift shop, and an electronic weather station. Hot Air Pilot, a special video game, allows older kids and adults to fly a virtual hot air balloon.
Each year, the museum hosts the nine-day National Balloon Classic, which attracts balloonists from all over the US.
Tours: Book guided group tours in advance: Adults $4; Children (5-18) $1, (under 5) free.
