By offering their support and friendship, volunteers in the Neighborhood Friendly Visitor Program brighten the days of elders and help ease the loneliness and isolation that may be a part of their daily living. The community-based program was developed in 1978. Churches of any denomination, community agencies, and groups of interested people can establish their own Friendly Visitor satellite under the umbrella of the Neighborhood Friendly Visitor Program.
