New Orleans' oldest fine arts institution houses a permanent collection of more than 40,000 objects, valued in excess of $200 million.
The New Orleans Museum of Art's Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden offers free admission to all. Families can explore five acres of lush landscaping, featuring over 50 sculptures nestled amongst meandering footpaths, reflecting lagoons, Spanish moss-laden 200-year-old live oaks, mature pines, magnolias, camellias, and pedestrian bridges. The garden also has a small cascading garden pool with stepping stones to cross. A cell phone tour (also free!) is available, too.
NOMA also offers a variety of educational programs and special events.
Family membership starts at $60/year.
