    about The New Victory Theater:

A real jewel box theater - just for kids - this cozy and intimate, 499-seat, beautifully restored landmark has a fall to spring production schedule, offering the best in children's entertainment.

There's not a bad seat in the house at the New Vic. The tiers are skillfully raised so that even small children should be able to see the stage easily. If there is a hulking grownup directly in front, though, the New Victory has lovely green booster seats. The ushers are enthusiastic, happy, and friendly, and bring one instantly if asked.

The concession stand and bathrooms (with a decent number of stalls, very clean) are downstairs, and there's a TV set up with a video view of the stage if you haven't finished snacking before intermission ends. Healthy snacks and refreshments like sparkling juices and trail mix replace the usual soda and candy fare.

Theatergoers can participate in a variety of extra programs offered by the New Vic. Family workshops, taught by the theater's highly trained professional teaching artists, offer kids and their parents the opportunity to discover what it takes to juggle, dance, and perform like the pros. Prior experience is not required to learn exciting new skills and have a blast, too!

NV4us offers exclusive events for teens ages 12 to 15. Chaperoned by The New Victory Theater staff, each NV4us event is a fun way for teens to hang out, watch a show, and gain exclusive access to visiting artists with pre- and post-show activities.

A School Vacation program is occasionally offered for kids ages eight to 11.

The theater's website is an excellent resource, providing video clips and detailed information about each production in the season, as well as show-related activities.

    tips:
