Nirvana serves healthy food, makes incredible ice cream, and encourages creativity and initiative-taking in kids. It's a parent's ideal restaurant concept, and we believe the name is right-on for this triple threat. Breakfast is no longer served at this totally casual, order-at-the-counter, cheerfully decorated hangout for families and regular folks. Kids menu selections (for children 12 and under)include cheese quesadillas with meat add-ons, pasta bowls, or sandwiches for $4.99-$5.99. Add a dessert to kids' meals for just $1 - which brings us to the desserts. The ice cream here is a cross between the traditional American sweet stuff and European gelato. It has less fat than the regular kind, but you'll never miss it. In fact, it's some of the best around. Flavors are funky and sometimes risky, mostly because of Nirvana's younger patrons, who can submit ideas for flavors in hopes of winning prizes and photo recognition. Recent winning concoctions include Peanut Butter Sandwich, Winter Wonderland (peppermint ice cream with chocolate snowflakes, candy canes, and Peppermint Patties), and Thanksgiving Feast (pumpkin pie ice cream with pecans and candy corn.) In addition to encouraging young minds to bring more flavor to the world, Nirvana founded Camp CEO in partnership with Roswell Recreation and Parks to help budding entrepreneurs learn how to make their ideas full-fledged enterprises. Participants get practical business lessons and advice through a summer session filled with games, field trips, and hands-on activities. In Roswell, a private party room, which seats up to 25, is available for parties or meetings. Call the restaurant for pricing and options.
