Oak Street Cafe serves great American and Italian fare for lunch, dinner, and brunch (on Sundays) in a cozy setting that's great for date night, but warmly welcomes families. Service is so friendly, you feel like you're one of the family, and special orders are accommodated with ease. Burgers, substantial salads, and steaks are always on the menu, but specials change daily. Don't miss the polpettone - giant meatballs made by a true Italian grandmother (the owner's). While there is no kids' menu, an order of real mac & cheese - we assure you it's nothing like the boxed version - or a half-order of the polpettone should do the trick. Entrees run $8 to $24. Desserts include a warm chocolate cake, and a rich and satifying creme brulee. The entire restaurant is non-smoking, and the outdoor patio has ample seating. A full bar serves "grown-up" drinks and Italian sodas are available for the little ones. High chairs are available.
