The Oceanside Library, located within the Civic Center block, is the main library for the city of Oceanside. It has a good selection of children's books and a great children's area. To reach Children's Services directly, call 760.435.5590.

Children can hear a story read to them simply by calling 760.435.5700. The Dial-A-Story program is made possible by Friends of the Oceanside Public Library.

Activities and programs for children and teens is extensive at the Oceanside Library. Check their website for a current schedule. Family storytime, computer classes, craft programs, and family movies are a few of the available events.

The library has segregated books, videos, pamphlets, bibliographies, and magazines that specifically address parenting issues (childbirth, raising teenagers, nutrition, parties and games, schools). The Parenting Collection is located in the far left as you enter the Children's Room.
