about Old Corner Bookstore:

At one time the Old Corner Bookstore was the stomping ground for Longfellow, Emerson, Hawthorne, Thoreau, and Oliver Wendell Holmes. Today, it's a Boston Globe store. Apart from its association with the Freedom Trail, there's really nothing for the kids here. The place looks like any other nice, independent bookstore. It is handy, however, if you also want to shop for books.

tips:

While you're in this neck of the woods, check out the shops in Downtown Crossing. One of the most well-known is the original Filene's Basement.

getting there:

Orange Line to State Street. Located at the corner or Washington and School Street.
