Operated by the Ft. Lauderdale Historical Society, the museum and village allows visitors to experience what life was like in South Florida more than 100 years ago. Located where the New River meets the Flager East Coast Railway, there are also four historic buildings on the site: the New River Inn, the Philemon Bryan House, the King-Cromartie House, and a reconstruction of the village's first schoolhouse. The museum itself includes many important historical documents, photos, and audio-histories of pioneer life in Florida. Information on membership is available at the museum's web site. The museum is available for rental for birthday parties and weddings.
