    about Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park:

    The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park marks the site where, in 1855, the first permanent, non-native settlers to Las Vegas Valley - a group of Mormon missionaries - built an adobe fort along Las Vegas Creek. Today, remnants of the fort form part of the park's visitor center, which features interpretive displays. Several events take place at the park throughout the year.
