This restaurant truly is a Portland landmark. Although this is a great place for families, plenty of people without kids come here, too.

Kids under nine love the play area that includes a wooden climbing structure and toys. Parents love the casual atmosphere where they can grab a beer and watch the kids play. Crayons and paper is doled out when you're seated, so there's lots of activity even when the kids aren't running loose in the playroom. A changing table is available in one restroom.

The menu is full of flavor for the whole family. While adults indulge in spicy entrees like chicken enchiladas, kids get their fill of finger foods like chicken hot dogs and burritos. The kids' breakfast menu is stacked full of short-order items: a pancake or waffle, an egg and toast.

From Highway 99E, head east on E Brunside. The restaurant will be on your right just past Sandy Boulevard. Public Transportation: Served by Tri-Met's routes #19, #12, #58 and #70.
