Located in the beautifully restored 1927 Orange County Courthouse in the heart of downtown Orlando,
The History Center has the honor of being named the area's best museum numerous times and is home to many varied collections of the Historical Society of Central Florida, Inc.
The center has three floors of permanent exhibitions and hosts numerous special and traveling exhibits throughout the year. Permanent exhibitions include displays detailing the Seminole Wars, the area's Big Freeze in the 1890s that devastated the citrus industry, and even a replica of a World War II B-17 bomber.
Heritage Square, a one-acre park located directly in front of the History Center, hosts numerous community events annually.
Spring and Summer Camps: Children enjoy interactive projects and crafts, while learning about Florida's first explorers, traditions, varied cultures and the events that shaped Florida. Birthday parties: Choose a birthday theme like Pirates and Privateers, Native Americans, or Pioneers, and participate in fun, hands-on activities. The two-hour party includes a guide, full-day admission, and all party supplies (except food). Call for more information.
Girl Scout and Boy Scout badge programs are available with self-guided tours and badge workshops.
