Osceola County Historical Society - winner of our
2009 Parents' Picks award for best local museum - strives to preserve and share the history of Osceola County, combining museum exhibits and historic buildings to deliver a living history experience.
Visitors can spend the day viewing exhibits at the
Pioneer Village and Museum, walk through the 1889
Ross Lanier House to familiarize themselves with the way early Florida residents lived; visit a one-room school house; see how an early
Citrus Packing House, circa 1882, worked; learn about the day-to-day activities of the Florida Cracker Cowboy at the
Cow Camp; and make a purchase at the
Tyson General Store. which dates to 1887.
