This jewel of a museum houses a collection of art and historical artifacts from Asia and the Pacific Islands. Exhibitions change two or three times a year.
The building is designed like a Chinese treasure house, surrounding a beautiful courtyard with a koi pond, and it's exactly the right size for families to enjoy the collection, without being overwhelmed or becoming exhausted. One room features hands-on items for kids to explore, often related to one of the visiting exhibits; however, children younger than four might not appreciate the museum fully.
The gift shop is full of unusual items and lots of good books, and is open during museum hours. Call 626.449.2742 extension 20.

Take the Lake Avenue exit off the 210 Freeway in Pasadena, go south to Colorado Blvd, turn right(west), go 6 blocks to Los Robles Avenue, and turn right(north).
