The
Pacific Northwest Ballet School, one of the leading training schools in the country, has two locations: one on the north side of the
Seattle Center, and the other on the Eastside (the Francia Russell Center in Bellevue). Both locations' programs are identical and are directed by the
Pacific Northwest Ballet's Artistic Director, Peter Boal. The school offers Pre-K classses for ages two-four, creative movement classes for ages five and six, pre-ballet for seven-year-olds, and student-level classes for ages eight and above, by audition only. Auditions are usually held in August and September. PNB Ballet School offers
summer workshops at the Francia Russell Center.
Ages four to seven take classes in creative movement or pre-ballet, Mon-Fri for one-week sessions. Each session focuses on a different theme (Cinderella, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, etc.). Students dance, listen to stories, and do craft projects relating to that week's theme.
Older dancers (ages eight to 13) participate in the student division and must audition first. Visit the PNB School's
website for more information.
